Dancing with the Stars week five 10.19.2009

Tonight’s Dancing with the Stars show was very entertaining. Natalie Coughlin did OK. I always feel like the judges score her dances higher than they deserve. I thought both Aaron Carter and Michael Irvin did very well and had their best performance to date.

Michael demonstrated why you should always wash your hands after handling money after he put a nickel in between his but cheeks to enhance his dancing posture. You just never know where your money has been prior to you getting it.

My favorite performer who has been consistently dancing well from the first show out is Mya.  She really dances well and puts on a good show.  I can’t understand why the judges don’t score her higher.

Mark Dacascos did good on the judge’s cards but I felt he was too soft in that particular dance. I thought he needed to be more sharper in his movements.

Funny boy Donny Osmond put on his serious gameface and did extremely well. He was very sharp and the judges gave him the highest scores to match his best performance.

Louie Vito had his best dance so far too. He did more dancing than walking this week. Compared to his competition though he is struggling.

Melissa Joan Hart struggled a bit with her dance. I thought it was on par with her Charleston dance last week, but the judges seemed to see more flaws with her performance this week. Point wise they did about average. On a side not, her partner had some really flashy red shoes which might of helped the judges focus more on their footwork than usual.

Kelly Osbourne does what she always does every week. I think the judges are just fickle. She has been pretty consistent with her performance which is average compared to the other dancers. What surprises me is how the judges sometimes award her higher scores than the actual dance warrants.
Joanna Krupa performed well and danced with Maksim instead of Derek (he caught the flu) this week. The judges noticed a slip or stumble but other than that thought she did good. She is one of the few models that go on the show and dances great. I think Brooke Burke from a previous season was the other model that danced well throughout the season.

Holy cats! What does Mark Dacascos have to do to get a little praise? He was on fire in the paso doble. He was sexy, intense, and sharp as a razor blade. Amazing moves, too.

I think he started strong in the beginning of the season and commented as such. As I watch him progress with each new episode, I see him becoming less proficient. I think he is still doing great, but in comparison with the other dancers who are also learning in the same time period he just isn’t as strong. I like him and think he is a great TV personality. I think he is not hitting his dance potential and I am basing that against his first performance.
Thanks for commenting , Melinda.
