What!?! A Republican Congressman calling the Afghan war “foolish” and calling for bringing the troops home?

Paul does not quite have a legitimate solution (for key principles, see http://shadowedforest.blogspot.com) but “allow the Afghans to decide” is right on target.

Here is one intelligent Republican. This issue is not a party issue – both are now clearly guilty.

It is at least somewhat reassuring that intelligent thought can still be found, after the sad last decade, in Washington.

Now, it is time to plan a transfer of control from the US military to Afghans, with immediate support from neighbors and other Asians (carefully selected; not including Saudi Arabia).

War was never declared to go to Iraq and shouldn’t have been..but we went anyway. If one really believes that Al Queda and/or the Talisban caused 911 (and I don’t)then we should fought hard and fast in Afghanistan all the way to Pakistan to rid that country of the supposed perpetrators and then left…and then they would reoccupy the country, probably, as before. As far as Iran, they are an independent nation run by more religious zealots and have a right to run their nation as they see fit as long as they don’t threaten us DIRECTLY!!!!!Teddy Roosevelt and Woody Wilson started all of this warmongerring we’re continually engaged in. It’s time to end up, bring our troops home and trade with everybody.
