I am looking forward to the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight this weekend

Posted on Nov 12, 2009 by CHESSNOID in Boxing, HBO, Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, sports | 0 Comments

This is one boxing fight I am looking forward to watching.  I think these 2 champions will give us an entertaining fight that will end in a knockout.  Hopefully it won’t be one sided like when Pacquiao knocked out Hatton or dominated Delahoya.  I heard Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach said Cotto will get knocked out in the first round and he was willing to bet on it.  That is a very strong opinion and we will see if his prediction will come true.

Roach was right when Pacquiao beat DLH.  However he was wrong when he said Arlovski would beat Fedor.  Fedor knocked out Arlovski out cold with one punch.  Cotto is a proven fighter and will surely get passed round one.

I still am not sure of how this fight will go.  I like both fighters and think they are both exceptional.  Quite frankly, I can see both fighters getting knocked out because they both have knock out power.  Here are highlights of there recent fights on HBO.

Pacquiao vs Hatton Highlights (HBO)

Miguel Cotto vs Joshua Clottey Highlights (HBO)

I have to believe that Cotto will be at least be able to challenge Pacquiao like the way Marquez did.    This video shows the split decision won by Pacquiao in the rematch was very close.

HBO Boxing: Marquez vs Pacquiao II Highlights (HBO)

This boxing match with Pacquiao vs Cotto will be a great fight.  Pacquiao is favored to win and Cotto is the underdog.  A win for Pacquiao will probably set up a megafight with Mayweather that is sure to generate the biggest PPV in history.
