Encourage your representative to support HR 1207 – the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. The Fed is a private institution and is therefore not subject to normal Governmental Freedom of Information requests, as Bloomberg recently found out.
HR 1207 will help to reveal where the Fed is funneling trillions of dollars of taxpayer’s money.

Rep. DeFazio: Fire ‘Timmy’ Geithner
Finally, some government officials are at least trying to hold someone accountable for making bad decisions that cost American taxpayers billions of dollars.  Quite frankly, it is transparently clear through Neil Barofsky’s report Geithner failed to do his job.

The taxpayer money used for TARP was simply a waste. Commissioner Elizabeth Warren explains in the video below the funds used were to unfreeze the credit markets. The banks simply held on to the money and did not loan it back out.

There was a plan put out by the Bush administration to help homeowners, but it failed.   Then there was a new plan put out by the Obama administration which was put in place after taxpayers bailed out the banks.  So did the banks help out the same people who supplied the money to bail them [...]
