Afghanistan: Surtax The Surge Stupidity

Seriously, we need to withdraw the troops from both Iraq and Afghanistan.  It is a waste of money, nor can we afford it.  As a matter of fact the reason why we went from budget surpluses from the Clinton years with a 12 year plan to be debt free to the worse economy since the Great Depression is because of Bush wanting the US to invade both countries.  Now we have a President voted into office with promises of troop withdrawal, only to turn around  and break another campaign promise.  It is  hard to hear someone claiming they are against the war and consistently support it by funding it and increasing troop levels.

So now President Obama after a few months has made the decision to increase troops.  The federal budget is a bust.  There is no extra money for anything.  That is why we have a 12 trillion dollar deficit.  So the solution the lawmakers have is “Surtax the Surge” even if you don’t support it.

Afghanistan: Surtax The Surge Stupidity

You may make the same arguments to support both Bush and Obama’s purpose to invade these countries.  I think both Presidents are wrong and all the people who support them for increasing more troop support.   We have almost 30 million people Unemployed, millions of foreclosures, and many tent cities for our growing homeless population.  These are where the priorities should be.
