Holiday shopping online and saving money

Posted on Dec 5, 2009 by CHESSNOID in Fatwallet, Ipod Touch, economy, internet | 0 Comments

I know everyone already shops online, but for some reason it is not an automatic habit to start at certain sites that pay you to shop if you begin the search on their website.  To clarify what I mean,  whenever I want to buy something online at Walmart, Bestbuy, Overstock, Ebay, Priceline, and Hotwire and already know what I want,  I start at the websites like   Fatwallet or Bing  (the shopping page) and sign in.  You have to be members of the site to get paid but registration is free.

I like to clear my computer cache before I start shopping to make sure I get credit for my purchases.  To give you an example, I already know I am going to bid online at Priceline for my travel needs.  I start out at fatwallet by signing in. Then  I click on the priceline link.  Once I go to that site, make a purchase, then fatwallet gives me a rebate.  Same thing works for all the other sites.

A second example is when I buy stuff at Ebay or Walmart, I start at Bing by signing in.  Then I do a search like “nintendo wii” or “ipod touch” then I click on the Ebay or Walmart link depending which site is paying more.  After my purchase is confirmed, then I get cashback through my paypal account.  Right now I think it is 15% cashback on ebay through bing.  It lowers your overall purchase price, so don’t forget.

Also, be sure to use the credit card with cash back features to maximize your savings and lower your overall cost.  In that first example,  you get awesome deals at priceline already, then you get cashback at fatwallet, then you get cashback on your credit card rewards plan.  Plan your purchases properly and you will enjoy your savings that you can take to the bank.  Cheers!
