Bachelor’s Chris Harrison comments on Scandal during Bachelor Jake Season

Posted on Jan 4, 2010 by CHESSNOID in Bachelor, Bachelorette | 2 Comments

I still like to watch this fake “reality” show regardless of how it comes across contrived.  Just like today, on the day of it’s season premiere with Bachelor Jake, a coincidental scandal breaks out in the media.  Right.

Again this show is for pure entertainment and I personally believe nowadays that the outcomes are predetermined.  Everything is done for ratings on this show, so stories like these are less real than the reality show itself.

People:

The rumors are true. The first relationship to emerge from the new season of The Bachelor, which premieres Monday (8 p.m. EST) on ABC, doesn’t involve its star, Jake Pavelka, at all.

The dating show’s host, Chris Harrison, confirmed on Monday that a male producer had a relationship with one of the female contestants during filming and that ABC had to address the situation on camera in an episode this season.

“It was incredibly unfortunate. Horrible decisions were made,” Harrison told Sean Valentine, the morning radio host at KBIG-FM in Los Angeles. “It was embarrassing for us and in fairness to Jake and for the other women, [we said], ‘Let’s nip this in the bud and take care of it.’ And that’s what we did.”

Harrison didn’t identify the producer or the contestant, nor did he elaborate on the repercussions, though presumably neither party was allowed to continue on the program. Whatever punishment was doled out, it will be addressed on the show. “I felt bad for everybody,” Harrison said. “It was an uncomfortable deal.”

As much as it was wrong for what happened between the producer and Rozlyn, I also thought it was completely wrong to have confronted her about it on National TV.
It was actually uncomfortable to watch it. I think it should have been handled privately with discretion.

i think the show handled the situation in a well balanced expectation of the media interest and those involved in the show. the host shows a great deal of discretion, yet authority in how he handles such turn of events. rozlyn made her choices. making such a choice she knew it wasnt in her heart to be there for the final result of the show. she got her momment of fame. yet also got a dose of “stupid” as she stated “her personal life isnt anyone”s business”. did she forget the show was being filmed and for millions to see?? either way she will still get attention from the media on that. giving her opportunity to be seen , heard, and exposed. as a tv society we will “tune in” so both her and the tv viewing public will carry blame for feeding into it . we’d be better off taking the high road and cutting her loose as the show did. please let her rose ceremony end quickly!!!!!!1
