The Bachelor Jake Pavelka 01.04.2010

Posted on Jan 4, 2010 by CHESSNOID in Bachelor, Bachelorette, Deanna Pappas, Jason Mesnick, Jillian, Jillian Harris, entertainment | 13 Comments

I still can’t believe it is 2010, let alone that we are beginning the 14th season of the bachelor show.  This time it focuses on the formerly rejected pilot from the Bachelorette Jillian show.  Are you seeing a pattern here? Bachelor Brad rejected Bachelorette Deanna who rejected Bachelor Jason who rejected Bachelorette Jillian who rejected Bachelor Jake.   The bigger question than who does Bachelor Jake pick is which reject will become the next Bachelorette next season?

This is the ABC site bio for Bachelor Jake:

BACHELOR BIO

31-year-old Jake Pavelka is out to prove to the world that nice guys don’t finish last. No, they finish in love. Fasten your seatbelts and leave your relationship baggage at the door as this handsome commercial pilot from Dallas prepares to take flight as The Bachelor.

Jake Pavelka grew up in Denton, Texas and attended University of North Texas and Embry Engineering University for Aerospace Science. He discovered his passion for flying at a young age, as he started taking lessons at age 12. As an accomplished pilot, he became an airline captain flight instructor at 23. In his free time, he has fun flying acrobatic planes, taking dance lessons and woodworking at the home he owns near Dallas.

Now, if you’re thinking this guy looks familiar, you’d be right. Ever since Jake shared a magical date with The Bachelorette, Jillian Harris, millions of women have had their own high-flying fantasies about him. A fan favorite for his rep as an honest guy with an open heart, viewers were stunned when Jillian rejected Jake just before the hometown dates.

But when Jake returned in the next episode to protect Jillian from some less-than-genuine suitors, this gorgeous flyboy sent our hearts soaring once again. We weren’t alone because requests for him to be the next Bachelor came pouring in. Jake’s fairytale experience with Jillian gave him motivation to continue his search for love on The Bachelor. Only this time, it’s his turn to call the shots.

Jake longs to find that special someone who is intelligent, confident, energetic and spontaneous. He wants a best friend and soul mate. He also admits that he can’t wait for fatherhood. Hey, the family thing seems to be in his genes. Jake’s parents have had a long and happy marriage and he also has two happily married siblings, older brother Jason and younger brother Matt.

Will Jake jet off into the sunset one of the bachelorettes waiting in the wings? One thing we know for sure is that there will be 25 arrivals and at least 24 departures once the 14th edition of The Bachelor takes to the air on Monday, January 4, 2010 on ABC!

And on People magazine, Bachelor Jake will be also blogging along the show.

Well hello there all you Bachelor fans!

First, I want to thank you for sending all of the requests and online votes to make me the new Bachelor! Not to mention the people that have sent me letters with kind words of advice and encouragement. This experience has meant the world and I still can’t believe it actually happened to me. THANK YOU!!!

Now, the one big question I get about the show: Is it real?

Yes, it is very real and it all starts with the casting. The producers really go out of their way. Several meetings with casting, producers and other professionals took place before we started. The crew learned all about my character and temperament to find exactly what I’m looking for in a life partner. We looked at what had worked for me in the past, what had caused past relationships to fail and by the time it was over, they knew me better than I did. The casting department and producers did such a thorough job selecting the women for me that it made ALL the rose ceremonies awful!

Another question I get: Does the show edit and produce all the drama?

You could have 25 Mother Teresas living on top of each other in a house and there would be some sort of drama. Personalities just clash sometimes. It’s healthy human nature, BUT, I can assure you, it causes some pretty rocky situations for me this season! Regarding editing, I feel like everyone last season came across as who they really were. Unfortunately, sometimes when one sees oneself on TV being oneself, it can be a little shocking, but if you would ask any of their peers, 99 times out of a 100 they would say, “Yeah, that’s them alright.” Take David and WesThe Bachelorette last season — both gentlemen had VERY true and accurate edits. from

Well, as I said in the beginning, I’m not going through this to make a television show. I am looking for love. Luckily for you there were lots of cameras around recording my sometimes embarrassing dating habits. LOL!

I would say sit back relax and enjoy the show, but you better put your seatbelt on for this season. It’s going to be a very bumpy ride!

And yes! Flying is still the safest means of transportation.

BE SAFE and have a wonderful New Year! –Jake

Hey Jake, You are very charismatic and intelligent. So please pick the real one for a real deal – not for fun and someone who is really ready to be a wife and mother. Do not say I love you or say all the flowery statements to the girls if you think they are not, some of the girls are kinda fake…you know what I mean.. so be honest please… as most of the ex bachelors say too much when they do mean what they say true from their heart and mind. Good Luck… I wish I am younger…..
    Best and God Bless You,
    Anne Milstead
( I watched The Bachelor every season and I hope there isn’t too much ‘drama’ this time!)

    Jake,

IF you read this I think you have made great decisions so far but Vienna is just not for you. Every girl is there for you but they make the best of the situation by befriending eachother even though in the end they are competeing for the same thing except Vienna it seems like it is just a game to her.

  3. jean harris, January 26, 2010:

Jake what are you thinking keeping Vienna??????
she is not for you and I hope you don’t pick any of these numbskull girls….shame on the people who picked them…no substance, immature…not for you.

  4. Joanie Reisfeld, February 1, 2010:

A 56 year old woman, sees you sparkle w Tenly and Gia….Go for it…leave Vienna and Ali to move on. You deserce the best! Tell the producers they need a show for the 55+ age group. Good luck!

  5. Ang, February 2, 2010:

Ok Ali is great and tinley is too but let vienna go I mean the other girls on the show tried to tell u but that woman is crazy with a capital C but listen to ur heart I guess that’s all u can do with that crazy ass woman

  6. Anne Milstead, February 6, 2010:

Hi Jake, Oh my God, please please Jake let Vienna go I just happened to be in the library and read US mag. and on your story that Vienna is an ex Hooties gal.. hm come on, for fun but not for your future wife…. oh my gosh,, please pick the right one say Ali or Gia.. I like both.. You decide who’s a better deal…. I like them both…for some certain reasons… Good luck, its true from a 56yr old lady saying we should have a show for 45-60 yrs up… gentlemen give these ladies a chance and these ladies are mostly more matured and for real thing!!
    God Bless You

hi jake I feel you have a good heart and you will make the right choice for yourself. don’t listen to anyone you are a very smart young man. you will pick the right girl for you. god bless you I wish you happiest.

  8. Kat, February 9, 2010:

Jake you fell in love with Vienna the first time you kissed her. I think she is perfect for you.

  9. Cheri, February 9, 2010:

I think Ali is the perfect one! Personally, I think she’s the smartest and most attractive girl remaining.

But, she’s definitely got to learn, people come before money. Give up that job for now. If you’re worth it, they’ll hire you back. Jake’s a cutie and definitely more important than that job.

I just hope she didn’t lose her chance with Jake by leaving the show.

  10. Kim, February 15, 2010:

VIENNA IS A POOR CHOICE FOR JAKE. SHE IS NOT READY AND PROBABLY WILL NEVER BE READY TO HAVE KIDS OF HER OWN……MY OPINION IS, SHE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT FOR YOU JAKE…..SHE IS NOT ATTRACTIVE AND PERSONALLY HAS NO CLASS! SHES A SPOILED BRAT…..ALWAYS WILL BE…..HANG ON FOR A BAD RIDE IF YOU GET WITH HER…..DONT SAY NO ONE WARNED YOU!! THE SIGNS ARE LOUD AND CLEAR…..SHE IS TROUBLE….GOOD LUCK

  11. Kim, February 15, 2010:

    GO ALI GO!!

  12. Chanele, February 21, 2010:

Go with Tenley like for gods sake Vienna is CRAZY! If you marry her you will be the one in charge of buying her stuff for no reason just because she wants, wants, wants… Don’t go down that road
