First of all I like both these companies. They are both innovative and provide great services. Even though neither one is actually in the phone service business per se, they look ready to battle for market share on the hardware.
Personally, I would buy either one of them, but those monthly service fees you have to pay the phone companies kills it for me. It just doesn’t seem right to pay $60 a month for a phone and data plan. That is probably the only thing that has stopped me from buying an Apple iPhone in the past. Google’s Nexus One phone is going to be over $500 but I wonder how much T-mobile will be charging for the phone and data plan.
I do have an Apple iPod Touch which is just like the iPhone except without the phone and camera extras. It definitely serves my needs and without the monthly payment to boot. I also have Skype installed in the Ipod Touch and make phone calls through my wifi.
