I just watched the Paquiao vs Clottey fight and was surprised that Clottey didn’t go for it.  I was even more surprised the Pacquiao didn’t knock out Clottey or hurt him.    Yes, Clottey had good defense but Pacquaio did land a substantial amount of punches to Clottey’s head and body.

Pacquiao landed 232 out of 682 power punches throughout the 12 rounds.  Here is the link to the compubox numbers. It is a pdf file so it will take a minute to load.

I guess it amazes me because he did knock out Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto with less punches.  Basically, these fighters could not handle his power.  Also, I believe Cotto did knock down Clottey once in their fight (based on the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight it looked like Pacquiao was the heavier hitter).
