It took quite a while to load up my songs to music beta by google, but it is all done now. All 7874 songs that I have accumulated over the last 20 years or so. It is nice to have them all in the cloud and now I can access all these songs on my android cell phone.
This was approximately 50GB worth of music so it wouldn’t have even fit on the largest microsd card my android phone can accept. I would say the quality of the music streamed is about the same as the pandora app. That app is also a great app to have on your phone, too.
One thing I do wish I could do is download any songs I uploaded back on to my laptop or gadget in the future. The reasoning behind this is if google ever decided to cancel the free service, I could just download it at that time. I am sure this service will probably be their more popular ones and won’t fail.
I actually converted all my music from the hundreds of CDs to mp3 format a few years back. I just thought it would be a great idea to have it all on one drive. This cloud drive seems to take it one step further. If ever my hard drive crash or became corrupted I wouldn’t lose all these songs.
I know google has the picassa service for photos which works in the same way sort of. I did use it before but I don’t like the idea of my personal stuff being online somewhere since you hear about people getting hacked all the time.
