It was kind of weird watching the UFC 141 event on a Friday night. I was only looking forward to one fight and that was the main event. I predicted that both Overeem and Diaz would win and was right. I think those were easy predictions to get right, but it always amazes me what I read on the forums.

I read that Lesnar would win by ground and pound and that Overeem would not be able to stop being taken down. Never happened and I think only Lesnar fanboys and nuthuggers would have guessed that. As for Diaz, I think there are just many people who hate him and the Diaz brothers. So it had nothing to do with skills. They may have also been just overestimating Cerrone’s skills.

If you haven’t seen the fights, just search for them on youtube and I am sure someone has them posted. They will usually stay up for a day or two before the copyright cops get them taken down.  Have a great new year!

Countdown to UFC 141: Lesnar vs Overeem video

There is a UFC ppv this Friday which is definitely a weird day for their events. I think it will be a big ppv just because Lesnar has a big fan base. I believe Overeem will win the fight by KO. This is one of those fights where Lesnar does not have the size advantage as in his previous fights. Also, based on his last few fights, he seems to have a questionable chin.

I wish this was a free event.  The only fight I am personally interested in watching is the main event.  And since I think this is a foregone conclusion, I will catch the fight after the fight.  Hopefully, someone posts it on youtube and I can watch it before the copyright cops get to them first.

Originally, I thought Jones would win this fight. But after watching this video, I am starting to believe Machida can come through with the long shot upset win.

I told my friend before this fight that Diaz would beat Penn by bunches of punches and that he had the momentum going in. Also, that Penn was no longer in his prime. Tonight, I was right but I feel bad that Penn announced his retirement after the beating he took. You just don’t like to see you favorites go out in a bad note. Like all the greats I mentioned above.
